Spring Canvas

When the Noor February Challenge was launched, my first thought was to create a clock with the letter 'S', which I did in my last post..... my 2nd thought was a Canvas! I knew I had one, it fell on me from great height when I was getting something ready for the grandkids!

Yellows for me, are Spring!, once the rain stops and they get a chance, the Daffodils will come into flower in my garden.... and it turns Yellow - I can't wait!

I had such fun getting very very messy with inks and gesso and the Dutch Doobadoo Texture Paste!!  Having been a florist for so many years, I have all sorts of 'bits' in my stash from when we used to make bridal headdresses, I found some odd bits of lace and hey presto - my thoughts came to fruition.
I do hope you like ;-).
Thanks for stopping by, Happy Crafting!

'Spring' is Sprung!

I confess its been a week or three since I 'blogged', but life, love & the universe stepped in, won't bore you with that!, however...... to quote dear Arnie...'I'm Back'!!

I have my contribution to the Noor Design February Challenge; Spring is my fave time of the year.... new life, new beginnings - so..... 'Time' was my operative word - I found a wonderful piece of 12" x 12" in my stash which I've had for, well .... ever!, but it teamed up so nicely with the Dutch Doobadoo soft board bricks, that it just begged to be used.

Using a very large MDF letter - I cut the rest of the word (pring) out multiple times on my Cricut.... glued them all together...Ta Dah!

DoH got roped in to make the hole for the clock mechanism  ... & I painted the hands with yellow nail polish!  Sticking tiny glittered butterflies from the Noor butterfly border onto the ends of the hands... Its so cute!!!

Lots of Dutch Doobadoo texture paste & Glamour Dust glitter.... well, no season is complete without it!!  The gorgeous Dutch Doobadoo masks came in here.... I like these, they are new to me, so jolly fun to play with.

The big butterflies are from Noor too.... ok ok, I confess...... Im hooked! all coloured with distress inks and Glamour dust, then layered with a bit of added 'Bling' to the centres!

I  used a couple of other dies - the Noor 1002 Circle die, I just love this die, its so versatile! .... and a JoyCrafts die 0289 Bille's Circle... this is an old fave - don't even know if its still available.... but a jolly good one to have in the stash!  I added a little metal watering can embelly filled with flowers and vellum leaves, liberally coated with texture paste and coloured with distress inks too.

So, thats it... my contribution to the Noor February 'Spring' challenge!  I had sooooo much fun designing this, all I have to do now is find a lovely space to hang the clock - I've run out of wall space in my workroom, so perhaps this creation will have to hang indoors!

So, I hope you like - thanks for stopping by - Leave a comment, be kind! Until next time, TTFN. x

It started out as a tag......

but then I found this heart plaque in the charity store - for 50p, well, it would have been rude not to... I had intended to do blues & shimmery golds..... But then the nozzle of my Radiant Rain clogged up, so it all became Pink...... Well it's not just a colour is it? Pink is a way of Life!

Having been a Florist for a goodly number of years, the nearer it gets to Valentines Day, I kindof get feelings of withdrawal, so I guess hearts, flowers & Pink are a pretty good way to go!  So here is my tag come plaque as another entry into the Noor Design January 'Love' Challenge, I did sort of get on a roll with this, or maybe it's just that the die's & things from Doobadoo give one inspiration?
Products used:-
Noor Design Dies; Butterfly 0023, Butterfly Border 0251,     8 Point die 0358, Sending Love Heart Border 0252 , Rolled up Roses 0384, Carpe Diem 0364.                                  'Radiant Rain' LuminArte shimmer mist, Ranger distress inks 'Festive Berries & 'Spun Sugar',  and from Dutch Doobadoo the fabulous Texture Paste with Heart Mask; finishing off with a touch of Glamour Dust and some shabby colour dyed seam binding  & shabby Bark Hearts from Live & Love Crafts.   Paper, pearls, pins, beads & stamp from my stash.                                                             So that's it, my Valentine wishes to all my Florist friends, I hope the day goes well for you, & that your Roses do not wilt! Thanks for stopping by,  have a lovely day....... until next time. X

Seize the Moment ! Love, Love Love!

I found this adorable tiny canvas ( it only measures 2" x 3") with an  easel in a shop today, quite quite random!, but thought 'Hey!, why not?'  I'm hooked on the Noor products at the mo, & since the Noor Design challenge for January is in the theme of Love.... I wanted to enter this little darling creation! The Doobadoo texture paste is something I'm a great fan of!  Truth be told, I've discovered long forgotten (& dear friends I confess.... Barely - if ever, used stash!). So with the addition of some of the gorgeous Noor Designs roll up Roses,
Hearts.... Papers from the Romance pad, & some very very indispensable glitter!!, well you can't have too much of that can you?  The 'Carpe Diem' & xoxo Valentine Dies appear too!  (DoH looked at the finished item, was surprised by the size...... but asked if I'd lost the letter 'T' from 'Carpe' !!!!! - well of course, one would have carpet in an artistic creation about love, wouldn't one? - what did he think this was?, something from 50 shades? Honestly!!
It was fun to make, I do hope you like & thanks for stopping by.  Until next time.... x

'Love' Challenge no 2 (for January) with Love for Noor Design UK

Couldn't resist this fabulous Noor Design challenge, especially since I won a voucher in the December Challenge! Lots of new goodies to play with!! I chose the new Dutch Doobadoo MDF word 'LOVE' which is after all the theme of the challenge.  This is my work today, I'm quite pleased with the finished result, mind you, one could go on fiddling for ever..... But since it's a working clock.... Time marches on!

Adding of course the awesome Texture Paste! (& glitter) with the hearts mask. I even splodged the lace with the texture paste, I think it improved it rather!  The clock hands got shortened a little, & I painted them with nail varnish, adding tiny hearts & a 'kiss' to each of the hands.

The tiny wreath - or Garland, was to represent the circle of Life... & Love.
Made from a piece of twisted wire with seam binding tied on..... & sprayed with a variety of shimmer inks from my stash (I have had them for... well, ever!)
So that's it, my challenge effort for the January Challenge! Hope you like - I'm off to the sink to try & remove some of the ink off my fingers.  Thanks for stopping by.

I've been having a lovely time getting all inky, playing with my Noor design die's, & Frantage..... Messy distressed embossing powder to the uninitiated!  Added a gorgeous stamp to the envelope, which I highlighted the flowers of, using Sakura pens.  The image is from Lily of the Valley.  Thanks for stopping by.

I made some roses using the roll up roses die, and added the Dutch Doobadoo texture paste, also from Joy crafts shop.... maybe its a bit plain tho"? what do you think?  Thanks for stopping by......
